The September Made It – The first batch of entries is here!

Helloooooo! The first bunch of entries into the Made It challenge are in (and the following are only the half of ’em!).  I have a feeling that this collection, like all before it, is going to be crammed full of fun and exciting projects that will threaten our to-do lists to throw their hands up and run for the hills!

First up and first into the mix is this rather graceful and elegant Rabbit 🙂

patchwork-rabbit-3

Patchwork Rabbit by Jill

What do you do if your friend asks you to make a rabbit for her new granddaughter? Why you rush into your (twenty-something) child’s room, grab her much-loved rabbit and pull her apart for her blueprint. That’s what. Luckily, Rabbit by Jill of Nice Piece Of Work turned out to be an excellent and very sophisticated clone  – well worth the trauma! Hopefully Alex’s rabbit is perfectly back to normal Mom, hmmmm???

Colours of Summer by Alynnis

Colours of Summer Blanket by Alynnis of Alynnis Crochet – Colours of summer describes this blanket perfectly! I love how each row is different. If you’ve been following the Made It challenge, you’ll know that there have been some seriously amazing blankets entered so far and a few have been GEMS from Alyniss herself. This one is a standout and as Alynnis said “an absolute joy to make…”.

Sea and Sand Blanket by Rainbow Junkie

And speaking of amazing blankets, feast your eyes on this Sand and Sea Ripple Blanket by Jane of Rainbow Junkie. Once again, Jane has contributed a couple of sensational blankets into the challenge so far,  and that’s no small deal considering how much time, effort and passion goes into each one!!! The colours are magical together and apart from the obvious wavy nature of the stitches, they capture the essence of the seaside beautifully.

Baby Set by Kaiserin

How utterly ADORABLE is this Baby Set by Kaiserin of Empress Fibres! I hope Kaiserin won’t mind me saying this but it’s so wonderful to see a “young” (cause we are ALL so young too, right?) crafter who is so obviously passionate about her work and who turns out such beautiful items. I love this delicate baby dress with matching pants and sandals. Eeeeek there is just too much cuteness in one pic!!!

Striped Baby Blanket by Lianne

Wowee,  we are very super spoiled this month with all these stunning blankets. I’m loving the colours of this soft and bouncy cotton Stripey Baby Blanket by Lianne,  one of our Facebook page members. I’ll say it again – I hope you all realise the time, effort, passion, late nights, uncooked dinners and abandoned husbands that actually go into the making of a blanket like this. Can’t wait to see more Lianne!

Hello, hope you are having a wonderfully relaxed Sunday wherever you are in the world. Here are the next batch of entries to show you, to entice you and to inspire you!

The following four entries are lovingly made by one of the Made It’s long time members, Jill of O’Noodles, who always wins our hearts with her wonderful creations and whimsical characters. First up, let’s see what these sweet bunnies have to say for themselves…

Welcome to Cathy from Bagg Ladys Buzz! Always lovely to have newbies to the challenge, and of course, more great blog to browse. Cathy’s entered these three fantastic baby blankets she’s crocheted for three lucky kiddies.  For those of you who have never crocheted a blanket before – it’s not easy, it takes forever, it can reduce you to tears, it can take over your life. Ok, well maybe that’s just me! Either way, it’s a huge feat so well done Cathy, they are brilliant and will no doubt be cuddled and dragged around for years to come.

Another great entry from Cathy is this cozy cotton Kindle cover. From the moment I saw it I wanted to start making one immediately  – and I don’t even have a kindle but who cares. This one is cleverly lined to prevent any static electricity that could harm the electronics – how cool!!!

AWKWARD!

*groan*

Let me explain.  Every month, the winner of the Made It challenge gets randomly chosen by InLinkz, the programme that hosts our collection. And every month, once voting is over,  I get an email notifying me of the winner, as does the actual winner. Except last month, there was nothing. So, after a little hmmmm’ing, a little head scratching and a bit of searching I hit the reset button, thinking I’d probably forgot to tick some box….and VOILA, we had a winner.

Except that there WAS a winner –  AKA Jill from Nice Piece of Work –  and they WERE notified !!

So Jill, please accept my most humble apologies! You’re always a winner in your hearts – I hope that a duplicate prize will help make up for it! ENJOY xxx

Filthy Feet

Well, I’m back from a great camping holiday with family & friends – filthy smiling faces, piles of washing, content kids – all great signs of a happy holiday. What the heck was I thinking when I said I would be updating the Made It from the inside of a forest in the middle of nowhere??? Actually, it was heavenly not having contact with the outside world for a while and seeing all kids enjoy the freedom of running around, playing & swimming without the usual nagging question “can I play on the i Pad/phone/laptop/TV…..?” Ahhhh, bliss! Here’s to a lots more of the “real stuff” this year

So, um, a few days late…here are the rest of this months fabulous entries…

October MADE IT challenge – PARP! It’s Grace, the Amazing Foxy Medallion Penguin in Lacy Wrist Warmers lying on a Chevron Cushion with a Snowflake Pokemon Headband. Ha!

…and if you can make sense of that, you’re a genius (forgive me, I had a few minutes to spare)

Hello & welcome to our fist October Made It show and tell, whoop whoop! I’m absolutely loving the entries and have thoroughly enjoyed reading all the posts too – very entertaining!

It’s been a tough week on the home front with very nearly losing my stepdad. He has a pre-existing lung disease (COPD, it’s horrible) and was admitted to ICU about a week ago with flu. This is routine procedure so we weren’t too concerned. However, he suddenly took an almighty turn for the worse,  and barely breathing, he pretty much told us he was letting go. As you can imagine, it was devastating for the family and my brother and sister started making plans to come home. I was so mad that he could possible go in a hospital room! How he made it through that night, I don’t know but what really blew us away was that he almost miraculously started getting better the next day and just kept on getting stronger and stronger. Even his doc was amazed. You can imagine how overjoyed we were when he came home yon Sunday, looking better than he had in ages!

So it’s with a very happy, light and grateful heart that I show off our first batch of entries…enjoy

The first 3 gorgeous entries are from JIll from O’Noodles who, might I add, is not only super crazy talented and fun, she is also waaaaaaay ahead of the crowd and serves as a warning to the rest of us tardy folk that Christmas (gulp) is just a few weeks away. Eeeeeeek!  Her beautiful & exquisitely crocheted snowflakes are definitely something I’d like to try…..in about a gazillion years when I’ve had enough practice! Please click on each pic for a visit  to Jill’s posts for links to the patterns for her stunning medallion scarf  – which is super stylish – and her equally chic & elegant lacy wrist warmers.  Looks like both these items can easily be worn all year round, my kinda accessories! We are once again spoilt with these absolutely beautiful visuals! Oooooooh how gorgeous are these delicious creatures!? Melissa from Vuchickens gets parent of the century award in my book, and I say this not because of the number of times her amazing creations take my breath away, but also for the gentle and wonderful way she has with her children. I wiped a tear or two while reading about this pink little Pokemon (don’t say I didn’t warn you!) who was made to cheer the kiddies up after losing a pet.  And just when my heart was nicely warmed, in walks Penguin to send me over the edge!
